Ways to Give

Each day, the Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University improves the lives of families and their companion animals battling cancer. You too can be part of our team by making a gift to one of our support funds listed below. Every dollar makes a difference.

Kari’s Fund: Endowment to Support Animal Cancer Center General Operations

Kari's Fund is the heart and soul of the Animal Cancer Center, supporting the annual costs of our core operational, educational, and research initiatives. As an endowed fund, the principal remains invested and only the earned interest generated by Kari's Fund will be used on an annual basis to pay ongoing, recurring costs associated with an internationally renowned cancer research and treatment effort. Kari's Fund must reach 10 million dollars in order to cover those costs which amount to nearly a half million dollars each year. Today, we are more than half way to our goal.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, your gift to this fund is matched dollar for dollar and will forever ensure the viability of the Animal Cancer Center to continue to be the world leader in veterinary clinical oncology and translational cancer research.

Animal Cancer Center Consult Service

The Consult Service at the Animal Cancer Center is an important outreach effort to help both pet owners and veterinarians all over the US and other countries as well. We answer approximately 3000 such calls on an annual basis. We do not charge for this service but are appreciative of the donations that help to sustain this valuable program.

In 2010, Linda and Brian Pardo, wanted to make a gift to help support this service as it helped several of their personal dogs and dogs who are housed at their rescue. This gift established Carmen's Fund in memory of Carmen, one of their dogs who was helped by the consult service initially and then came to CSU for treatment for her cancer.

Elliott’s Long Paw Scholars Fund for Medical Oncology Residents

The Animal Cancer Center trains medical oncology residents who are studying to be oncology specialists who will treat tomorrow’s patients. Our three year training program is one of the top veterinary medical oncology programs in the nation with over 30 graduates. But it does not come without a cost. The Center currently supports three residents for an annual cost of $150,000. Your gift to Elliott’s Long Paw Scholars Fund will help support the costs of training and educating these specialists to be the best doctors and scientists in the cancer field. Our ultimate goal is to endow this fund at the $1.1M level to assure a medical oncology residency into the future.

Because Cancer Affects Both People and Pets... Introducing OneCure

OneCure is a new initiative founded on the principle that cancer affects all creatures and that treatment breakthroughs come through collaboration between scientists and doctors who are working with both people and animals.

Our hope is that many join in our efforts to eradicate cancer in people and pets through a charitable gift to OneCure or through the purchase of OneCure collars, leashes and other pet-friendly products soon to be for sale.

All charitable gifts to OneCure and all proceeds from OneCure products will benefit the clinical trials program at CSU Animal Cancer Center.

Join us. Together, we can give hope. Together, we can find a cure.

Jessy's Leash of Love

To honor Jessy, and those at the ACC and Veterinary Teaching Hospital who have been instrumental to her treatment, Allison has created a pending endowment fund to help other cancer patients whose owners may not be able to afford the type of care that Jessy has received. Jessy's Leash of Love provides grants of up to $1,000 to both canine and feline cancer patients whose owners demonstrate a financial need. In addition to the endowment fund that will create an immediate source of funds for families in need, Allison has left a bequest that upon her death the fund will receive additional assets that will allow families in need to request up to $5,000 for cancer treatment for their animal companion.
